1. This privacy notice (“Privacy Notice”) forms part of the Terms and Conditions of our Website with you as a:

      2. Customer who has ordered Goods.

    5. The Protection of Personal Information Act (POPI) is aimed at protecting your personal information and prescribes what we must and must not do with it.

      1. Information that has been made anonymous so that it doesn’t identify a specific person;
      2. Non-personal statistical information collected and compiled by us; and
      3. Information that you have provided voluntarily in an open, public environment or forum.
    7. You may not access our Website or order our Goods or request our services if you are younger than 18 (eighteen) years old or do not have legal capacity to conclude legally binding contracts.

      2. To bill you for our Goods and collect outstanding debts;
      3. To administer your account with Chefs Depot.
      4. Your contact information may be used by us to communicate with you regarding your order status or to provide you with related customer service, to send you information about Chefs Depot relating to your order or inquiry.
      5. In our feedback form, order catalogue form and customer service sections, we may ask you to give us contact information, for example your name, phone number, e-mail address or postal address, in order for us to be able to respond to your inquiry.
      6. For product development or enhancement, for content improvement, and to customize content and layout of our site.
      7. When you sign up for online services like e-mail newsletters, we use your e-mail address to send the information you requested.

Ratings and Reviews:

When you provide a rating or review of any of the Goods, you consent to us using that rating or review as we deem fit, including without limitation on the Website, in newsletters or other marketing material. The name that will appear next to that rating or review is your First Name, as you would have provided upon registration. If you do not agree to this, please do not put any ratings or reviews on the Website. We will not display your Last Name, nor any of your contact details, with a rating or review.


Right to access and correct personal data

    1. Upon request by e-mail or by mail to the addresses set out above, we will provide you with a summary of any personal data collected and retained by us regarding you. You may modify, correct, or update your personal information or request to have your personal information removed from our database. Chefs Depot will only send copies of personal information to the e-mail address on file for the visitor name associated with it.

    1. We only share your personal information with companies that help us to provide our services to you and which have agreed to keep your information secure, confidential and to only use it for authorised purposes; as set out below:
        1. To our employees and/or third party service providers who assist us to interact with you via our Website, email or any other method, for the ordering of Goods or when delivering Goods to you, and thus need to know your personal information in order to assist us to communicate with you properly and efficiently;

We will ensure that all of our employees, third party service providers, divisions and partners (including their employees and third party service providers) having access to your personal information are bound by appropriate and legally binding confidentiality obligations in relation to your personal information.
